Do you work with international clients as well as UK based clients?

In addition to writing outstanding CVs, I provide LinkedIn profile optimisation and covering letters as well as assisting with applications and interview preparation. Alongside this, I also informally apply my skills as a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor to support clients from graduate to C-suite level in identifying issues that may be acting as roadblocks to career success.

However, we write all content without the use of AI / ChapGPT, which further ensures the safety of your information. In addition, all client work is carried out in-house, so no documents are shared with external parties in any way and both Danielle and I are subject to a strict confidentiality agreement as part of the role.

What makes Sarah Lovell CV Writer different from other UK executive CV writers?

Unlike some UK executive CV writers, I do not use AI / ChatGPT to generate content. Instead, using over 13 years of extensive CV writing experience gained from working with a diverse client base, I skilfully craft bespoke content tailored to each client. Sarah Lovell CV Writer is also a family business, with my daughter, Danielle, joining the company on a permanent basis in 2025 after previously providing me with business support on a flexible basis since 2017. Danielle has delivered great results to date, assisting clients to gain sought after interviews in competitive public and private sector organisations. Her specialisms are graduate to non-managerial level one- and two-page CVs.

Is there a free consultation?

Yes. After receiving an enquiry, clients are offered a free discovery telephone consultation to discuss their requirements. Clients are then provided with details about our CV assessment service for graduate to executive CVs. Choosing a CV writer is an important process, so we aim to speak with each prospective client to ensure that questions can be asked and services explored on a one-to-one basis.

I don’t have a CV. Can Sarah Lovell CV Writer create one for me from scratch?

No CV, no problem. We provide a ‘First CV’ service that guides clients through the CV writing process and culminates in a bespoke and professional CV. This is often an eye-opening process for people, who when seeing themselves reflected on paper for the first time, suddenly experience a boost in confidence and self-belief. Clients often make comments such as ‘I can’t believe that’s me, but it’s all true!’ and ‘Wow, I could never have written that in a million years, but it sounds just like me.’ So satisfying!

I've been in the workplace for years! How do I fit it all in?

Two pages are ideal, so keeping your work history brief, succinct and relevant is key to getting your CV read by the right people. On average, a recruiter spends about 15-20 seconds skimming each CV, so making sure your CV receives the attention it deserves is crucial to making it through to the next stage in the selection process – the interview.

What makes a CV ATS-friendly?

Understanding ‘ATS’ is crucial when it comes to applying for a new job. Although ATS has a foreboding reputation, having been a recruitment consultant who used software in my candidate searches, I like to think of ATS as a helpful tool that matches the recruiter with the right talent. After all, recruiters are just as keen to find the right applicant as you are to be found. So clean formatting, careful use of key words and appropriate length of document are all important factors in ensuring a CV is ATS-friendly - this then means that if you are a good fit, you are more likely to be successful in the CV parsing phase of the recruiter’s process.
